Penny had a profound impact on my family. She taught both of our children to be excellent writers, and challenged them to do better in everything they took on. She helped me to rehab during my own health issues by walking many miles with me every day. She was my tamale making friend and a person who made a real difference in my life!

Penny and I were fellow English teachers at Driver Middle School, and retired the same year. She was one of the best. In a time when there was enormous pressure to teach "their way." She taught her way, and her students were better for it.
