I join my sisters in expressing what a wonderful neighbor Penny was. They say that guests enter your home through the front door and friends through the back. Penny would come through the garage to the door leading to the kitchen and share coffee and conversation with my Mom on many afternoons. Often we kids would join in, and Penny never minded because she treated us like individuals with opinions that mattered. She was a lovely woman who will be missed. Terri Arney Roberts

We grew up with the Meyer Family next door. Penny was such a sweet neighbor. She'd lend us eggs, sugar, flour, whatever we needed so we would not have to drive into town. Back then we were an isolated neighborhood off of Rte. 88. She held an extra key to the house when we forgot ours - she was a trusted adult who was never put out by our forgetfulness. Penny (and her family) was my next door neighbor on Picture Ridge Road. I remember going to their house and being invited to sit down at the table and have coffee or ice tea. She asked about my life and was really interested in my answers. She would talk about her most recent trip or about plans for the next one.
