Penny Phyllis Daugherty (Hummel) Born December 10, 1958 to Harold E. and Phyllis L. Hummel. Penny also has four brothers; Perry & Pam Hummel, Jeff & Vickie Hummel, Joe Hummel, Greg & Colleen Hummel. Penny was preceeded in death by her mother, Phyllis, on January 20, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Michael S. Daugherty SR. Her four children and 13 grandchildren. Amber & Nate Caszatt, Austin Hopkins, Chase and Kaylee Caszatt, and Logan Hopkins. Adam & Pearle Daugherty, Haley Guernsey, Dylan McCoy, Madison and Mason Daugherty. Michael & Nikki Daugherty JR, Kaelyn and Preston. Chad & Bobbie Daugherty, Adreana, Alexias, and Ryelee Daugherty. Penny's great joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed sewing, especially making gifts for her family, doing hair, anything family related, Sunday get-togethers. Especially during football season when the Green Bay Packers were playing. Since the Summer of 2011 Penny has fought a long, hard, courageous battle against cancer. She showed amazing strength through it all. Penny was able to be released from her pain to become one of God's beautiful, amazing Angels on January 20, 2013. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. - Saturday January 26, 2013 at Zion Methodist Church in Ionia, MI with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday January 25, 2013 and 11 A.M to Noon on Saturday January 26, 2013 also at the Church. Her family would like to thank the staff at Sparrow Ionia Oncology Department, Sparrow Ionia Hospital Nursing Staff, Hospice of Ionia, Tom and Bert of Bert's Glass of Ionia, and everyone else who showed Penny and her family their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. A very special thank you to Cliff Allen of the Zion UnitedMethodist Church of Ionia. Cliff has been there for Penny and her whole family since the diagnosis. Cliff is a long time family friend who was always just a phone call away and helped our family find peace in Penny's passing. A special thank you to Pastor John and the Resurrection Life Church in Ionia. Words will never express how grateful we all are to you. A special thank you to Angela Keehn for lifting so many of the worries off of Penny and her husband Mike in so many ways when it came to the paperwork end of everything. A Special thank you to the Simpson family for donating the floral arrangements for the funeral. MaMa Penny, you have been such an inspiration to me for more than half my life! since the first time we met! you Loved me like a Daughter...and I loved you like a Mother! I am heartbroken that your not on this earth with me anymore! i can't just call and hear your voice...or wrap my arms around you and get one of your amazing hug's :( i know tho that your no longer in pain....you are in heaven walking with the Lord and you are a beautiful Angel! i am thankful i got to see you and tell you...

Oh my dear sweet penny as I watched Mike and your kids today it broke my heart to know you are really gone. I will do anything for any of them just like you would do for me. To all of you kids just call I will be there I loved your mom more than words could say and I will miss her but remember she loved you all and will always be in your heart.

I am truly sadden that you are gone. You were such a wonderful women with nothing but nice things to say. I seen you alot throughout the past few years from coming to my work, to softball games. You were truly a unique and kind soul. I am praying for your family in this time of healing. Losing a parent is probably the hardest thing ive ever been through in my 24 years of life, and this is the hardest part. We love you and miss you very much Penny you will remain a part of us always and forever. We will continue to pray for the entire family as this is never and easy thing for anyone to have to go through. We will still try to get together and play cards as we know that is what you loved doing. We love you all love Aaron,Misty,Autumn,Makayla,and Aaron Lepley
