Penny Marshall (1943 – 2018) was the star of the popular sitcom, "Laverne and Shirley." She later moved behind the camera to become an acclaimed director, helming the hit movies "Big," "Awakenings," and "A League of Their Own." She died Monday, December 17, 2018, at the age of 75. She was a great actress and I´m sure she was a wonderful person also, I can´t imagine growing up with her and her brother, I´m sure thier friends laughed a lot.

You can´t completely act out a role without a little piece of you shining through. I think a lot of the real you was shining through Laverne Defazio. You made me a more grounded, humble person. I really loved your show as a kid. You will be missed.

Miss Marshall and her friend Miss Williams bring this old soldier such happiness. I to this day, watch "Lavern and Shirley " daily to give me peace in my heart. Thank you both for such warm memories. May GOD bless you in Heaven and your families. Thank you so very much for such happiness and peace.
