Perry A. West
Perry A. West, "The Door Man", passed away September 3rd, 2011 of a heart attack at the age of 53. A lifelong resident of Lompoc, Perry is well known in the community. He was born on September 18th, 1957 to Norma West and the late John West. Perry had an affinity for the outdoors from hunting and gold panning to camping with family and friends. Always one to socialize, you could find Perry at DJ's playing darts or at SLO Brewery for a concert with his sons. He started working for AA Door and Lumber in 1990 and became a co-owner in 2005. He had endless knowledge about doors and a knack for customer service. Perry was very proud of his son's military service in the Air Force and Navy.
He married his high school sweetheart, Erin, in 1979 and enjoyed 32 years of marriage.
He leaves behind his wife, Erin; four children, Perry Rodriguez (Melissa) of Tucson, AZ, Brent (Chrissy) of Philadelphia, PA, Bryan of Jacksonville, FL, and Brandon (Lauren) of Santa Rosa, CA; four grandchildren, Tandra, Norah, Brenna and Denni; and one great-granddaughter, Iris; two brothers Steve and Wayne (Janie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Perry's life will be held on Friday, September 9th, 2011 at 3:00pm at Schuyler River Bottom Ranch off of Daisy and Barton down John Deere Rd. at the windmill in Lompoc, CA. Let's commemorate the life of a great husband, father and friend.
This obituary was originally published in the Santa Maria Times.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire West family. Perry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and FRIEND. We had the privilege to meet Perry and Erin in 1980. We instantly "clicked" and have remained friends for 31 years. Even though we might go months and even years without seeing each other, the friendship is as strong today as ever. Our favorite memories are Perry and Jon fishing while the women shopped...then sharing a meal and an evening of laughs and family stories....

Uncle Perry although we didn't see each other all the time, u and aunt Erin always made Raeanne and I feel welcomed. Over the last few days I have heard so many stories from family and friends, I enjoy hearing them because it makes me feel like I have become so much closer to you.
