Perry was born on December 16, 1931 and passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019. Perry was a resident of Washington at the time of passing. He proudly attended Sumner High School, St. Louis, the first high school for African Americans west of the Mississippi. He served in the Infantry Unit of the United States Army during the Korean War. Just found out. Perry was my principal for several years at Garfield High School in the 90s. He was a kind and fair person. I think of him often as the perfect guy for Garfield. Everyone liked him.
