Not sure what to say?

To Mr Lutken; As a member of Troop 575 I know I wasn't the best behaved scout in the bunch, but you patiently tolerated my ignorance at interacting with others. Later in life the lessons that you taught and the example of your patience with me eventually took root. It took a long time, but you and Mr. Collins were the bricks in a foundation that kept me from "the cliff." I think of you all and those days often. I remember Greg T., Chris Counts, and all the others that were under your...

Dear Emily,
We are so sorry to learn of your dear father's passing...
What a great man!
Lots of love and Deepest Condolences

Let me echo the sentiments of other scouts - Mr. Lutken had the most profound effect on my life other than my parents. I can remember any number of the life lessons and woodcraft he taught me. I often catch myself trying, miserably, to tell his wonderful stories. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him.

Pete Lutken was a faithful friend and a true hero. Ruth and Pete welcomed me and later Martha to Dallas many years ago and we are blessed in having known them. Their children and grandchildren have a wonderful heritage.

Tom, Dave and family,
I never had the privilege of meeting your dad, but he obviously led a successful and fulfilling life and left a tremendous legacy with his family, friends and anyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever.

No man other than my father and grandfathers had a more positive influence on my life. Thank you for your service wisdom and profound kindness, sir.

I can consider myself exceptionally blessed for having "Trailed the Eagle" under the tutelage and leadership of the quintessential Scoutmaster, Mr. Lutken. Fond memories, enduring outdoor skills and lasting life lessons.... I look forward to seeing him again at the end of this life's narrow trail.

You are an extraordinary man who burst into my fifth grade life as a St. Michael's friend of Emily, Tom, and David. My life is richer for knowing your extraordinary clan and you in particular.

God bless, hero, husband, father, disciple.

Peter Lutken

Brave and resourceful soldier taking the war to the enemy behind the enemy's lines; legendary Scoutmaster and friend to young men. He is the man who inspired me to become an Infantry officer . His foremost trait in all things was he was a true Christian gentlemen, I am blessed for having known him.
