Going on 5 years. I cannot believe how fast time flies since our last times together. God bless you in heaven Pete and thank God for the 28+ years we knew each other and listening and dancing to your music from the honky Tonks to the bigger and more important venues. Thank you bonnie for continue his memory with horses and haybales.

My wife and i were in Washington, D.C. for a conference she was attending. We went out for drinks at the Old Ebbit grill. While there we noticed this gentleman in jeans, boots, and a cowboy hat come in. He circled the bar and then sat down next to us. He commented that we didn't look like the locals so he felt we were approachable. The gentleman turned out to be Pete Martinez. He had come to DC for a birthday performance at the Vice-President's manor. He was invited because it turned...

I'll never forget that call Dec. 2, 2017, and that very tired, weak, voice that said, "Lucy, it is Pete". I didn't know he was ill, but he told me he didn't want me to hear about it from someone else. He left this life a mere week later, and I hope he is dancing in heaven with my friend, Rosalee, who I heard had passed just the previous week.
Pete will always be remembered for his black hat, winning smile, and the ability to make everyone feel special. He so enjoyed his visits here on...

My wife Lucy and I just returned from a month trip in Southeast Asia to learn, to our mutual surprise and sadness, that Pete had been so sick and had passed. I had a casual friendship with Pete over the past few years during which I spoke with him frequently about how we might jointly promote his wonderful singing talent. I spoke with him by phone in November and he did not even mention that he had been sick. He loved it when I told him that I listened to his songs...

We were so sad to read about Pete's passing. He played at our wedding reception in Evergreen in 1997. We loved his music and enjoyed getting to know him. We are so sorry for your loss.
