I cant remember his voice anymore... I miss my grandpa so much. Getting to go see him after dance class. Eating poptarts with him. Listening to his old records. I didn't get to say bye. My mom went to the hospital 2 days after his birthday and came home with the stuff dog we got him for his birthday. I still have it. I miss him

Great man i lived at his house for a year i still have a picture of him that he autograph for me before i moved to florida,i sure going to miss him

I only talked to my uncle pete a few times. but he seemed like a very nice and patient man. I only wish I could have met him. i will be trying to be in mma, and i'll remember him and his brother, my grandfather, during any match. Rest in peace

Pete, Rest in peace my grand fellow. You put El Paso on the map in the boxing world and without a doubt you have honored your city, family and state to the highest pinnacle of amateur boxing history; and as a model citizen, brother, and human being, a honest and loving human being.

Peter I am your cousin Catalina Melendez Rivera daughter of Jose and Jacinta Melendez. When the family saw the newspaper on Monday we were totally shocked by your father's death 2 days after our father passed away. Our first thought was that our dad went to get his little brother.
