1938 - 2005
Peter Archambault, 66, of North Troy, passed away in Burlington on Wednesday, September 7, 2005.
He was born in St. Sabastian, PQ on October 15, 1938, the son of Leopold and Rose Alma (Desautels) Archambault. Peter served in the US Army. He worked as a construction worker and heavy equipment operator for JA McDonald, retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion North Troy Post #28, where he held several offices, and was one of the most aggressive fund-raisers for the post. He was also a past member of the Troy Fire Department, and a past member of the Masonic Lodge #16. Peter loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked to hunt, fish and go for rides. He was a humorous, fun loving, and always willing to give his family and friends a hand with any of their projects. Peter also loved to visit his special niece, Tonya Graves for coffee and to scratch lottery tickets together.
Peter is survived by his children, Roland Archambault and his companion Francine Phillips and their children, Jamie, Kurt, Keshia, Kenny, AJ, and Cody, of Newport Center, Pauline Doyon and her husband Paul and their children, Justin and Jordon of Westfield, and Sandy Archambault and her companion Shawn Murphy and their son Tyler of Lowell, his step-daughter, Elizabeth and her children, Amanda, Brad, Josh, and Kyle, his companion of thirteen years, Valerie Montague of North Troy, his sisters, Lise Archambault and her companion Percy Lagasse of Derby, Ginette Gates and her companion Brian McAllister of Hardwick, and Jacqueline Rondeau and her husband George of Tennessee. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leo, Dennis and Gene, and by his sister, Aline.
Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, Darling Hill Road, Newport (formerly Sias Ave.) on Saturday, September 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be announced at a later date and will take place at the Notre Dame cemetery in North Troy with full military honors.
