Not sure what to say?

Dear Lila & Family,

What I will always treasure most about Peter was his unwavering commitment to do the right thing. Indeed, he had more personal integrity than anyone with whom I have worked in the past three decades.

Many of us, including me, did not fully appreciate what a privilege it was to serve with him at Audubon until we went elsewhere. His life will always be a shining example to all of us.

To Lila Berle & Family,
You are all in our prayers and thoughts. We got to know Peter when he became Commissioner of DEC in 1976. He was, by far, one of the most dedicated and hardworking Commissioners we have ever had. He was respected by many. He saved much of NYS's beautiful lands and was not afraid to take on big business. He'll be sorely missed by all he had touched, both family and friends. God bless you all. How sad we are in the Class of 1954 of Friends Seminary to hear of the very untimely death of our classmate! Our deepest sympathy and condolences to all the family.
