Not sure what to say?

I just found his book War Memories in a collection of books my mom gave me. I think I am a distant relative through my grandfather Gus Buma of Lynden. Anyway, I just wanted to express appreciation for writing the book of memories.

Mr. Buma came to my history classroom as a guest speaker several years when the students were learning about WWII. He was an amazing speaker and the students were impressed with his visits. He gave us copies of his books for the students to read. He was incredible.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry to hear of Pete's passing. What an amazing, devoted man of God he was. And a great story teller! We are grateful to have a copy of his prayer book. We will miss him greatly. Millie no doubt was waiting for him with open arms. I am glad they are together again. Blessings to everyone in the Buma family.

Our brother in Christ is now among the Saints. He will be remembered for the depth of his faith, his graciousness his humility and so many other splendid qualities. May God grant comfort to all who knew and loved him.

Jane and the entire Buma family, Our thoughts and prayers to each of you as you travel this journey. Pete definitely touched my heart and the hearts of so many! I was so blessed to meet and sit with him for an amazing conversation. Thank you for sharing him with the world!

He was a true blessing and a very memorable man. I came to the us from Australia and recall him as my principal from grade 5 at Millbrook. I loved his accent and his stories. Now that I know he wrote books I will have to find them to learn more of his life. Many condolences to the family of this beautiful and Godly man.

Buma Family - I am so sorry that I only learned about this today, as I would have visited in person. Your dad/grandpa was one of my favorite people, and when he was still able to get out and about would regularly stop in at Calvin to say hi. He also called me on my birthday to sing "Happy Birthday!" to me. Pete and Milly were the backbone of our church. May God surround you with much grace and tenderness as you grieve.

I and my brothers and sister had Mr. Buma at East Paris. I remember him standing so tall and full of wisdom. He also came to my dad's funeral and we received one of his prayer books addressed to the person he gave it to. My sympathy to the family hang on to the great memories. Deb (DeVries ) Howe
