Possibly one of the two most influential people of my formative years....Peter Burgess and his mother Mary Elizabeth helped me recognize what quality of life is. For this, after more than thirty years, I always have yellow iris and beautiful big rhodies growing in my garden...

Grandpa, I miss you so much!!! Life is NOT the same without you. I wish I could look into your eyes, hear your voice,hear your laughter one more time. There are so many things I want to say to you, but I will tell you in my own way. I will always love you more than words can say.

He changed my life.

I have fond memories of Dr Burgess taking
the time to teach a new student the ways of radiology. He was always patient with all of us as we were learning our way through our radiology course at General Hospigal. He was a gentle man in all that he did. Blessing to the family in your time of loss.

Humboldt County has lost a truly remarkable man. I had the pleasure of working under the direction of Dr. Burgess during my radiology training in the mid 1970's. He was always caring,kind,soft-spoken and displayed an incredible amount of patience not only with the students but also with the patients we received. Reading the lovely obituary brought back fond memories...My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
