Peter and I enjoyed many happy hours playing clarinet-cello duets and clarinet-cello-piano trios with pianists Liz Dyson and Helen Leneman. We tackled Beethoven´s Opus 11 and Max Bruch´s wonderful trios and had a grand time. Peter was the quintessential gentle-man, a lovely, dear person, who made the world a better place in everything he did.

I remember an interesting visit we all made together to Noe Valley for Mexican food. He was dignified and generous and kind!

I have so many memories of Peter and his family over more than 25 years of close friendship. I must mention his intellectual input, his wisdom and his unassuming warmth in our friendship. He was most beloved to me as a friend. He was one of the finest, wisest and most virtuous individuals I have ever had the honor of knowing. I consider myself privileged having had his steadfast and supportive friendship. I will deeply miss him. Goodbye dear Peter. May you rest in peace forever. S. Nuri Erbas

I knew Peter through music: he was a wonderful clarinetist who was introduced to me by a mutual cellist friend. At the time, they were looking for a pianist who could play trios with them. Peter and I also explored many duets, and playing with him was a joy. He was one of the kindest, gentlest, most down-to-earth people I have had the good luck to know. I will miss our music-making and his sweet, smiling presence.
