Peter Coke

I never met Mr Coke, but you felt you knew him through his radio appearances. Paul temple is one of those rare programmes that sound as good today as they did when first broadcast in the 50s and 60s, and that is thanks to his excellent performances and those of Marjorie Westbury.

I have enjoyed repeats over the past few years on Radio 7 and there was a recent (2006) interview with him.

He had great talent and great warmth and humanity. RIP

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Peter Coke's family and friends. When my mother was seriously ill several years ago, both she and I, received great solace and encouragement from listening to Mr Coke's wonderful portrayal of 'Paul Temple'.We still turn to those superb broadcasts when I visit her - and never in vain. I will always be immensely grateful to this multi talented man. May he rest in peace, God bless him!
