I met Pete at one of the many Construction law conferences that he and I both attended each year. He And Marilyn were on the same airplane I was And we sat across from each other. It was 2009 or 2010 in April and our destination was New Orleans. Young Peter and Colleen may have been along on that trip too. As both of us would do we engaged in conversation for the first time. Pete was one of the finest men I ever knew. I was his roommate at West Point on several occasions (we used to rotate roommates every quarter so we would get to know our classmates). I could not have had a better roommate. He possessed a warm personality, a beautiful wit and sense of humor and was always positive, encouraging and helpful; most often during the academic and other hard trials of cadet life.
