Not sure what to say?

I miss you Dad

I am in complete shock -- and heartbroken. I got a call today at work when my father saw the obit in the Record. Pete was a wonderful mentor, my favorite "boss," a brilliant, inquisitive, funny man, and a dear treasured friend. I wish I had known so I could have attended his funeral Mass. He and Rachel -- two lovely people who brought so many joyful hours into my life! Hey Pete, I KNOW you can hear me up there -- how come they didn't mention in your obit that you were the THR's first Ad...

I will truly miss my grandpa Pete...I will always be thankful for him and him being such a wonderful grandfather. He will truly be missed by us all.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. DeVito. I have never formally met him, yet I have been his tenant for almost 5 years. Be Blessed!

Well that was my Dad and I will miss those unending stories and the history he knew of whatever you were talking about. Pio Devito was a wonder to the youngest in the family with his Italian temper yet kind and soft heart. He will be greatly missed by his family. We love you Dad.

I remember Pete DeVito well and have good memories of him from my childhood. Always a kind and friendly man, he was genuinely interested in listening to what a child had to say. He had a grand sense of humor too.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Although I only new Pete a short time, I really loved him. He had an indelible effect on me. He was an exceptional man, kind, intelligent and fun loving. I read his memoirs, which I hope someday will be published as an important historical record of a young Italian's life in New York. I'll miss you, Pio.. With love to Rachel and the family, Anne
