Age 92. Omaha. Preceded in death by wife, Marie Lowe DeVries; and sister, Jewel Stapert. Survived by sons, John (Judy) Council Bluffs, IA, Peter Jr. (Lisa) Gretna, NE, Steven (Beth) Jefferson City, MO; daughter, Joan Wilkins (Alan) Columbus, NE; sister, Eleanor Jeltes, North Haledon, NJ; sister-in-law, Helen Smith, North Haledon, NJ; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and special friend, Jeannette Webb, Omaha. Major in the Army Reserves, retiring after serving 21 years. Bronze Star Recipient WWII. Sponsor of Dale Carnegie Courses 1971-1988. Peter was a devoted husband, father and was strong in his Christian faith. His dynamic personality and positive outlook made him a leader to those who knew him.
VISITATION Thursday 6-8pm at Crosby Colonial Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE Friday 10am at Prairie Lane Christian Reformed Church, 3111 S. 119th, Omaha. Interment Hillcrest/Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials to Prairie Lane Christian Reformed Church. CROSBY BURKET SWANSON GOLDEN

Dear DeVries Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time. Pete was such a great man and such a great companion to our grandmother Jeannette. The time they spent together made her so happy and believe he was too. During one of our last visits, he showed off the great scrapbook that Joan made and really helped us get to know him even better.
I'm sorry we can't be there to help celebrate his life, but know that we are praying for him and your family.
