Douglas Peter Melvyn (Mel) Passed away on 26th December 16, aged 79. Beloved husband of Ethel (nee Atkinson), loving father of Joseph and Peter, grandad and great grandad. The funeral service will be held at Sunderland Crematorium on 11th January at 10.30am.

I have very few memories involving you Grandad and that's understandable considering I didn't see you since I was 5. Now that you're gone I can feel an emptiness in my heart that is being balanced by the knowing that your spirit has ascended and you are in a place of eternal love!

I will forever cherish the memories I have of watching you comb your hair, being the chauffeur for Gran, Peter & I in your "Douglas" van, and your love of all things horse racing. For a man of few words I know your love for me, and the rest of your grandchildren, was greater than great.
