Pete was my godfather and although it has been a long time since I saw him, and I have fond remembrances of him from my youth and days in Manchester. I knew he was a dedicated and respected leader and public servant--important points to me for someone in the role my parents chose for him to have in my life. My sincere condolences to his family.
