Condolences to Peter's friends and family. He and I were fellow art department students in 70/71 and have sporadically communicated since then.

Peter was a dear friend of mine. He was a dear friend to many. I adored his warmth, his wit and his explosive laugh. I made a portrait of him in Nov. of 2013 which didn't actually demonstrate any of these things, rather it explored another more contemplative side. The obit photo does a much better job of capturing the ebullient character that so many knew. He was a terrific storyteller. I am so sad I didn't take the time to visit, I have been thinking of you both quite often for the past few months. If I can be of any help to you, Josephine, please don't hesitate to call. Rest in peace my friend.

I knew Peter at the University of Iowa from 1965-70, and then looked forward to seeing him for many Thanksgivings at our mutual friend Janyce McMeniman's annual gathering. He was fun, funny, silly, brilliant, talented, and sweet. I treasure the time I spent with him.
