Not sure what to say?

I still think of Dr. Goodwin frequently and fondly. He was the most caring, outspoken and empathetic medical professional I had ever known, and I have had many. I look to him to see what is lacking in the doctors of today. He was so fearless and was well respected among his peers. I consider it a privilege to contribute to this remembrance of him. He will always hold a very special place in my heart and the hearts of so many of his patients. Also, he was so funny! I can still hear...

There isn't a day that passes that I don't think of Peter. He became quite a personal hero to me--I still have the voicemail he left telling me of his decision the Thursday before he passed. I play it from time to time, to hear that voice, so filled with humanity from a life of lessons learned. To his children--his memorial was beautiful, heart-warming, hilarious. Well done! The anecdotes still inspire me in low moments. "Erica, where did I put my keys?" So many wonderful, poignant...

Sending love to all Peter and Erica's young. We will miss them both so much, what a joy it was to have had their friendship over all these years We have just returned from SA and been sent the news.

To the Goodwin family, Your father was and is still one of the greatest men I ever met. I remember as a kid him coming to our home (housecalls in Camas) and saving my brothers life more than once. He will always be in our hearts. God Speed.
~ Vicki Johnson (Smith)

I was a patient, as was my son, of Dr. Goodwin. He was always "up" and interested in our lives outside of what he may have been seeing me or Casey for. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

To the Goodwin family and my classmate Philippa, my deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. May God be with you. Douglas Hancock

Peter Goodwin was my doctor for many years. Through time I applauded what he believed, stood up for and changed. I delighted in his friendship. It was a privilege to know him.

With love and admiration. What a great man! He leaves a momentous legacy. Such bravery and integrity are rare qualities. We are fortunate to have had him in our midst. Pat O'Connor

Peter and Erica were such incredibly kind and loving people. My late husband was a student of Peter's in the late 70's. Peter taught him about not just the science of medicine but also the art of medicine. What a wonderful teacher and mentor he was! Erica was also a teacher and mentor to me - demonstrating how to graciously and lovingly combine the responsibilities and challenges of being a wife, a mother and a graduate student. It was a blessing to know them. June Brooks, Eugene, OR
