Not sure what to say?

When the Pennington School caught on fire in January 1980, it was Pete who called Janice and me, informing us that our music office was among the other areas of the school up in blaze. When I arrived there, and informed him that all of the musical compositions I had composed from ages 10-15 had been kept in that office (over 100 pieces, as well as one third of Janice's and my personal belongings in mid-move), Pete's response was one of pure sympathy and compassion. I will always his...

Peter was a man with interesting ideas and perpectives, a stimulating man to talk with, a man willing to share his time and his expertise. I'm glad I knew him and proud to count him as a colleague.

Mr. G. was an excellent teacher and a fond memory of my Pennington School experience.

Mr. G was not only my Algebra teacher, but he coached me the very first year Pennington had a Girl's Soccer team - what a blast we had that year! I can honestly say he was my favorite coach; a kind, generous man with a buoyant wit! My condolences and peace to the family.

Mr. G was a man of enormous talent and intelect, but moreover he was a great friend. I passed many hours in his office and at his home duringmy years at Pennington. We could talk about everything or nothing. He had a way of making either interesting. He had equal gifts for humor and melancholy, and talks with him were liberally sprinkled with both. Coach, mentor, teacher and friend.
Mr. Gustafson was a man of incredible intellect and many talents. Peter had quite a far reaching impact on me as I wound up becoming a professional teacher just like him. I am deeply saddened by his loss. I wish to express my condolences to his family at this time of great sorrow.

Like so many teachers at Pennington, Mr. G. still cared after we graduated. He actually kept track and sent me a card on my 21st birthday. It really touched me.

This is just so sad! Kathy and Dean Waters

Peter and Sandi were the first people to befriend me when I joined the Pennington faculty as school nurse in 1976. I have always been grateful for their kindness and friendship.
