Pete was a Great Guy, a Great Runner and a Patient Man! I hope Robin is doing well without him.

I hope robin is doing well

I am a former athlete who now walks on a treadmill in the basement, and I no longer look like a distance runner.
A picture that hangs in the family room showing a cross country race from 1979 is the only clue in the house that I was once a runner. Friends often ask who is that guy next to you? He looks fast. That's Pete Hallop I say, he was very fast.
In that particular cross country race neither Pete nor I were going to win. We agreed to tie with about 200 meters to go. At the finish...

i am so sorry for you loss. Pete is a wonderful guy and i will miss him.

Amazing runner, coach, and man - he will be sadly missed but remembered well.

Those who knew Pete and saw him train and compete had the privilege of witnessing a rare and talented individual who was more than a fine athlete. His love of the sport and his dedication to his fellow athletes will be missed by all.

Pete was a hero to many of us runners who go back to the running boom. Many of us fondly remember his many running victories and benefitted from his AATC workouts as well as his advice on running. Pete was my teammate on a successful 4 x's 800 m USATF Masters National Championship. Pete got the biggest second place trophy I ever saw (Norman Marcus silver plate) in the Fifth Avenue Mile where he posted 4:21 at 44 years old.
