Peter Niven HERRINGTON

HERRINGTON, Peter Niven 89, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. Peter was born May 11, 1928 in Montreal, Canada. Peter attended McGill University where he obtained his medical degree. From there he served in the US Army as a surgeon and received the rank of Colonel. Peter served in the Korean War and Vietnam war where he then went on to meet his wife Judy, a surgical nurse in Vietnam. Peter and Judy married and continued their relationship for an impressive 48 years. In 1975, they made Tucson their home where Peter began his career as a General Surgeon at Thomas Davis Clinic and raised his family. He worked at the clinic for over 20 years until he retired. After retirement Dr. Herrington focused on what really mattered to him; his family and golf. In addition to being able to "shoot his age" in golf, he was also able to be a master of many hobbies including playing the bag pipes, jewelry making and wood work. Peter was also an avid Arizona Wildcat fan and loved attending home football and basketball games. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Known as "fearless" to many, Peter had such a wonderful impact on everyone he touched throughout his life. Peter is survived by his wife, Judy; his five children, Blake, Christeen, Kim, Mark (Julia) and Matt (Kelly) and his seven grandchildren, Danni, Hanna, Peter, Dillan, Connor, Niven and Maeve. Peter's legacy lives on in our lives and he has done us proud! We love you forever and thank you for everything you've done and given us. We are forever grateful.
