Not sure what to say?

I only knew Peter through Michel ( his beloved “Shelly” as his first love from Notre Dame years), but these last years at Christmas parties, great dinners that he cooked and walking around the dog park where my husband said he “ couldn’t take the smile off his face”- he was like an 18 year old kid in love again and SO HAPPY. 79 was too young. We expected to be seeing him til 99.

Wartime colleague and friend. Limitlessly gifted and generous.

Bravest, toughest, smartest man I ever knew.

An inspirational force of the first magnitude in War and Peace.

Rest in peace.

Salim (Respectfully, Of Course!)

To a dear neighbor who we never had a chance to meet. From the comments on here, it sounds like you were a wonderful person.
My family moved into the Sycamore neighborhood in Fallbrook October 2019. We would take walks through out the neighborhood and down to the cul-de-sac all the way to your beautiful home. God Speed Pete!
Pete was a outstanding colleague as a adversary, co-counsel and mediator. I admired Pete's razor sharp legal skill as much as his wit and warmth. I will miss him. Kevin Cauley

Last I saw Pete was on a sunny day in Pittsburgh years ago. But my memory of him includes numerous stories of him told to me by my brother, John, and good-buddy-sister, Erin. He was larger than life, uncompromising and compassionate - I count myself blessed to know 4 of his greatest works and those they brought into his circle.

Kathy and I will greatly miss you. We will always be brothers who loved each other and we will always be friends, a friendship based on mutual respect and aligned goal and ideals. You eloquently passed on the history of our family which enriched us in knowing who we are. We successfully navigated some difficult times but we were stronger because of them. I can’t believe there will be no more calls or visits during which we laughed and learned. The feeling of loss is intense. I love and miss...

May Pete Rest In Peace. A wonderful, wonderful man. Blessed to call him a friend a d mentor.
