Not sure what to say?

Dona and the Boys.

You might appreciate one of my favorite memories.

While at BU, on one of my weekend trips (probably in '47) to UNH, after a Friday night of "hospitality" at Lambda Chi, I was sleeping in. Peter had gone off to play Lacrosse against the rich boys at Phillips Exeter.

He returned about noontime, very much the worse for wear. Obviously with his Greek heritage in mind, he said "You know Jim, there's a lot to be said to having been well fed for several...

Mr. Janetos,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Dona and Family,

We just received your card and are so sorry to hear about Peter's passing. But we consider ourselves fortunate to have had the chance to know him. We were hiking this morning and sharing some memories about him.....to this day Paul still enjoys this piece of advice that Peter shared once as we walked in the door empty-handed as dinner guests: "never show up empty-handed!" so now we always remember that and at least bring a bottle of good wine or bread or...

Dear Dona (and the Janetos clan),

For some reason I Googled Peter's name today, and was instantly moved to tears to see he had recently passed on. I lost my own father 6 years ago this summer.

Peter and Dona were second parents to me for a time, and in many ways the Janetos clan was the family I never had. Peter and Dona were always generous with me, freely sharing their home, their family, their attention, and their love.

I'm especially grateful to Peter for the...

Dear Dona,
I just received your card today and am so sad to hear about Pete's passing. We were so lucky growing up in Durham and have you and your family as our neighbors! Pete was a wonderful friend to my parents and now they will all be joined together. I will see you in August.

Dear Mrs. Janetos,
I would like to express my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your husband. His conversations and the impact he had on people that he came in touch and contact with are living on. I do not know your family personally, I heard about Peter, you and your son's family from a friend. What I have heard is moving. Peter was like a father to my friend who had lost his father many years ago. As his family lives on other continents, your family is a great support....

Dear Dona and Family,
Please accept our sympathies in the passing of Peter. As Valerie's sister, I have had over 25 years of visiting you when Val and her family were in town. Somehow you felt like my in-laws too and for that warmth of friendship I thank you. It was always a pleasure talking with Peter about sports and family. I will miss him. Dona, you are in my thoughts.
Sincerely, Lisa Brideau and Family

Dear Dona, Steve and Sue,
Please accept my condolences. I never met Peter during our time together but heard a few stories, though! Hope you find comfort in great memories with your family.
