Marsala, Peter T.
Peter T. Marsala, age 93, of Fairfield, the loving husband of the late Helen Marsala, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013.
Born in Old Forge, PA, he was the oldest brother of eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Marsala was a decorated World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army where he was among the first wave of the invasion of Normandy. During his wartime experience, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Prior to his retirement, he was the Director of the Connecticut Steelworker's Union of the AFL-CIO. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He is survived by his devoted son, Peter J. Marsala and Josephine Keogh of Fairfield; two brothers, John and his wife, Maryann Marsala of Shelton and Clarence of Seymour and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and seven sisters including Mary Varrone.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. Interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery with full Military Honors. Friends may greet his family on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. Pete, We are so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was someone I've always looked up to and loved. Sorry we can't be with you for the funeral as Moms in the hospital with a battle of her own. God Bless.

So sorry to hear of your father's passing. He was a great guy and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him talk about WWII. He was a fantastic neighbor! Helen and Pete are together again. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.
