Not sure what to say?

We didn't get to meet Peter until just before he passed. We shared lunch and dinner in El Valle, Panama. It was a thoroughly delightful experience. He and his wife were lovely to be with. I still think of that day fondly.

A chance encounter in the mountains of Panama led to an evening of great conversation. Peter was such a charming man! The dinner we four shared is a fond memory. Our prayers are with you all.

Dear Jill and Laurie:
Ron and I were so saddened to hear of Peter passing. We feel honored to have known him and worked with him on the farm house and Military Lane. Thank you, Laurie, for introducing us to your wonderful family. Our relationship with your mother was another enriching part of our lives.

We toasted hazelnuts and sipped Laphroaig remembering great conversations with Peter.

Dear McDonald Family,

I grew up with the McDonald family on the coat tails of my sister, Jean.

As youngsters, I was a little older then they, so knew some better than others.

I got to know an appreciate Peter best after we attended several Nature Conservancy events and field trips together; a delightful and dedicated conservationist.

My heart-felt condolence to his immediate family, including the Meigs and Malarkeys.

He went way too early in...

Dear Jill, Jamie, and Jennifer,
I have so many fond memories of Peter. I really got to know him best on our trips to Africa. What incredibly fantastic trips they were! He was always so knowledgeable and friendly and wonderful! But one of my last memories of Peter was when you and he drove me home from a funeral after I'd left my keys In the pocket of my coat and someone mistakenly took my coat. He then drove me back to the forestry center to get my car. All before driving all the way...

Dear Jill: Peter's contributions to our beloved Oregon left a mark that will benefit generations to come via The Nature Conservancy and 1000 Friends of Oregon. Your summer gatherings for TNC's Oregon Chapter were an annual highlight for Barbara and I at Inchinnan Farm. What an adventurous and community spirited life you two shared and the land and people benefitted no end. We will soon make a pilgrimage to Elk Rock Garden to remember Peter.

In the 6 or 7 years that we knew Peter, we developed a profound respect for him---professionally, personally and for his principles. He was just a great guy!

Dear Jill and family. I was so very saddened to hear of Peter's passing. I have such fond memories of all of those fabulous and elegant Country Classics at Inchinnan Farm, and also of working with him at the Historical Society. The Oregonian's obituary beautifully captured Peter's life and his many contributions to this global world of ours. Blessings. Sending you my heartfelt sympathy and warmest best wishes. Take good care.

Dear Jill and family,
We will always remember Peter for the wonderful person he was and that we will treasure.
