Not sure what to say?

I met Peter Meier in 1966 as a recent EMU graduate, employed by the National Sanitation Foundation as a Laboratory Technician. In my work assignment I conducted "taste and odor" tests on water that had been exposed to various plastic materials utilized for drinking water pipes, and Pete was one of several analysts who served on my "taste and odor test panel". Pete proved to have one of the very "best noses" on the panel, consistently able to detect faint odors at lower dilution levels than...

Barbara, I am so sorry to read of Peter´s passing in The University of Michigan Record. I will always remember his laughter and kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Carol Overley More

We will miss our dear friend, Peter, so much! We were next door neighbors on Gettysburg for 6 years. He and Barbara were so good to our family, even letting our daughter, Melissa, live with them for a couple of months. We enjoyed Peter's cooking. Peter was a member of The Great White North Poker and Outing Club, a group of men who played golf, Poker and went fishing together. They have so many wonderful memories of their times together. Peter did the cooking when they went on trips and they...

Peter was one of my favorite U-M faculty through the years - nice guy and fun character. Was able to interact a bit more with him after we both retired. He never changed and that was good.

Peter was a wonderful colleague in the U of M Department of Environmental Health Sciences. His upbeat optimism helped brighten the work days. He was quick with a warm smile and encouraging word from my very first day as a junior faculty member. And his pig roasts in October for the entire department were legendary. I send sincere condolences to Peter's family, especially to Barbara who helped host Peter's many gatherings making us all feel welcomed.

Peter, I remember the time you had my family over (I believe it was before a Meeechigan game) and you had a feast for us! I also remember fishing with you on the beautiful PM. You were a great friend to my Dad (Mike Warzynski). This world will miss you. I hope that you are fishing on a heavenly stream. -Jen

Whenever Peter would visit our office in Ann Arbor, he would bring a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our front desk. He was a joy to talk to and it was a pleasure to hear his cooking stories. Peter will be missed always.
