MEINTS, Peter Thomas - Of Flint, age 89, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Joshua Manning officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Peter was born in Flint on October 14, 1920 and had been a resident of Flint all of his life. He served in the US Army during World War II. On September 10, 1946, he married Eileen Cohee. Peter was employed as a mechanic with Victor George as well as at Schaffer Bakery and GM SPO. Peter was a devoted family man who worked very hard but always put his family first. We will always remember his love and kindness. Surviving are wife, Eileen; son, Thomas of Davison; daughter, Salle and husband Jerry Gean of Swartz Creek; two sisters, Kathleen Glazar and Dorothy Brandon; brother, Don and wife Dorian Meints; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
