Not sure what to say?

To our dear friends, the Murphy Family,

I was so saddened by this tragic loss. Pete was one of the first people I met when we moved to Martha Drive in the Summer of '67, and we were instant friends.

Although we'd gone our separate ways over the years, he was one of those people you knew you could pick right up with, even years and hundreds of miles later.

Seems like only yesterday we were all just kids playing in Robinson field. Fond memories...

A lovely memorial service was held here on the Union campus yesterday. Many kind remarks were made from the community, faculty and students of Dr. Murphy's devotion to his profession and also to the community.

There will be a Memorial Service for Dr. Peter G. Murphy on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 12:30 pm in the Main Building Auditorium.

Just a quiet word to extend my deepest sympathy to the Murphy family. May your memories of Pete be a source of comfort to all of you and especially to you, Phil. The three of us shared some good laughs over the years. He was one of the good guys.

I was a spanish student of Dr. Murphys this past semester. He was a great inspiration to me. I will always remember him in my heart. May the Lord be with all his family and friends in this time of berievment.

I was a spanish student of Dr. Murphy's during this past semester and I also worked with him at USC Union as his clerical support. He was an excellent professor and such a pleasure to work with. We will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Pete the professor... Had not seen Pete in many years but the memories of our youth will live forever. To his credit he pursued and realized his dream! To Paul and his parents, may God give you strength during your time of grief, and know that Pete is at peace!

My deepest sympathy goes out to you, Maggie and George, and all of your family. I have many wonderful memories of Peter, as well as the rest of your children, playing in the backyard. Where does the time go? My love to you all. God Bless!!

To the Murphy Family: Although time marches on, the bonds of early childhood frienship cannot be broken but only grow stronger. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and especially one of my oldest friends, Paul.
