Coach Olson was all discipline but an encourager just the same. I was not on the active roster, but helped run the opponents plays against his varsity. And like the obit said, he cared about us and encouraged us to develop as far as we could. H-O-R-S-E it was the game Pete and I played when I was the JV Manager at Central High. Never tall enough, never fast enough, never good enough to play the game, Coach taught me the game of life...smile, be happy and always remember the peaks and valleys so that when you're admiring the view from the mountain top realize it's only there because of the valley below. I'm certain he's already got the wise cracks out as well as the fishing pole and all the lies about the ones that got away.
