Not sure what to say?

Read an article recently honoring veterans. Peters name was mentioned. He was truly a real veteran through and through . My family got to have him as a stepfather and to my kids he was Papi . To my brother Chris he was a father figure . It was hard for Chris losing his father at age 7 . I believe he was 16 or so when Peter married my mother . He was so good to my mother through her suffering of cancer . She had a sad life , orphaned at age 7 , a widow with 5 children at age 40 . Meeting Peter...

My sincere condolences to Penney and Anita. Peter was so kind and helpful to my mother in her to short life. He made it fun with their travels ,etc. May he rest in peace

Dear Penny and Anita,
I have great and vivid memories of your dad. He was larger than life, always friendly, supportive, and caring, and one of Palmer's great Democrats! Hearing about his passing brings so many happy memories of growing up with you in Palmer. My sympathies to you and your family, including your thea Diane. I remember visiting her with you, Penny, in her apartment in Springfield.
Love to you both,
Tom

He was my friend and I will miss him...I only hope that I can pass on all that he has taught me.

My deepest sympathy to Peter's Family. A nicer Gentleman I have never know. He will be sorely missed throughout the veterans community. Rest now my good friend with the knowledge of a job well done..

To everyone who was touched by Peter, I share your sense of loss. I met Peter through my husband and his family. Certainly Peter is one of "The Greatest Generation." It was my privilege to know him. My prayer is for those who mourn however, I try to imagine how wonderful it must be for Peter to hear the words of Jesus. "Well done my good and faithful servant." Peter, enjoy your well deserved reward!

To all of Peter's Family..........our sincierest sympathy in the loss of an absolutely wonderful person and special friend....always with a smile and a joke....May all the things that made Peter unique and special forever bless your lives in heartfelt memories.

Peter was the best advocate for veterans that I've ever seen. He once assisted me in finding the gravesite of a good friend that was a veteran. Great person. My condolences to the family.
