Peter Price taught me how to swim as five year old back in 1950 at the Heretaunga Swimming Club. Then went on to coach me (Paddy Withers and Georgie Manuel) taking us all to Hawkes Bay Championship success and on to the NZ National Championships. Will never forget those freezing cold Tuesday training sessions when the pool had just been filled with artesian water on Monday. But Pete got us going. Farewell Peter. To the kindest, most patient and loving gentleman I´ve ever had the privilege of knowing. You could make friends with anyone, and I am so grateful you chose to make friends with my partner Simon, and in turn, me. We loved telling you I was pregnant with Freddie and you were the best honorary grandad. I´m so sorry you didn´t get to meet him.
