Not sure what to say?

Dear Kathy, I was listening to Pandora this morning and the James Taylor song Going to Carolina in My Mind came on and I immediately thought of Peter. We had gone to this Grandfather's in N Carolina a long time ago and he was very fond of that man and

loved to visit him. Well, I have thought often of trying to get in touch with Peter, but time rolls by and you never get to somethings you should. So , this morning I had a little time and I was going to find him. I was shocked...

To The Retzlaff Family,
I was saddened to hear of this tragic loss. Retz was one of the best teachers at NBHS, although I didn't have him as one, my brother did. He challenged all of us kids and that will be forever appreciated. I remember how he never called you by your first name until you were a senior :) Condlences to everyone in the family.

My hear goes out deeply to the Retzlaff family. Mr. Retzlaff was my English teacher for 2 yrs. I could never ever forget him. My heart hurt to hear of his passing. I have so many good memories. GOD BLESS. -Leiha Ollivierre '90

He was one of my favorite teachers...He will be missed...My deepest condolences to your family. Chris Richards c/o 1990

Dear Kathy & Family >>>>> Mr. Retzlaff was my english teacher for only 1 year at NBHS but I must admit that he was one of my favourites for that year, my senior year. He challenged all of us in his class and I am forever grateful. He also took me on as a side project working with him outside of school and that is also something that I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Christian "CB" Brown NBHS Class of 1989!!

Dear Kathy and Family,
We have fond memories of all the fun at Little League and Scouts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the family, I extend my deepest sympathies. Mr. Retzlaff was my softball coach & senior English teacher and I was privileged to get to know him. Retzlaff was important in making NBHS what it was because he was invested in his students. When I didn't have money to get my cap & gown & yearbook, he refused to let me sit at the table & watch everyone else get their things w/o having mine. He paid for them. When another teacher was unfair to me, he listened to me rant, then looked me in the...

U will be truly missed!!! Love "Country" class of 1989!!!!

When I began to work at NBHS 31 years ago, Pete was one of the teachers that took me under his wing. We became friends so that for about 3 years we bowled together on Tuesday nights. Pete was one that did not look at color or race - he treated everyone the same. He was always looking out for the students - when some of the girl in the softball team could not afford equipment he went out and got it for them. He was always telling stories about his wife that the students love and hated him for...
