PETER ROLL

I wanted to extend condolences to Peter Roll's family on behalf of my family. Mr. Roll was a friend as well as financial adviser for my parents, Ellis and Marion Phillips. Another connection for me is, I discovered this year that Mr. Roll's son married my childhood friend, Jane. So Jane, if you read this, know that you are in my thoughts and hope that you and your family are finding peace through the grief. Fond Long Island memories.....

I was saddened to read of the death of my boyhood friend Peter Roll. Many, many decades ago we were classmates at Scarborough School in Scarborough, New York. While we had not kept up with one another in the intervening years, Peter has remained in my memory and my mind, as have Baekeland and Ninette. For a time Peter was a 'best friend' in those pre-adolescent years. We were less than two months apart in age and seemed to have had a similar outlook on life scarcely before it had begun. I...
