Not sure what to say?

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family"s loss. I worked for Judge Rutherford for many years at both the Chicopee and Holyoke Jury of Six. He was a great Judge who appreciate the job I did. May he rest in peace.

Judge Rutherford was fair, fearless and tough! As a prosecutor I tried many cases before him and was always terrified but respected the Court deeply. Judge Rutherford loved and respected the pursuit of justice through elevation of our practice and appreciation of our civil liberties.

Will be missed by his only grandson Dylan

Sincere sympathy to the Rutherford family. We Shared so many wonderful times With Peter and Rose at the blanford fair and Eastman New Hampshire. God bless the Rutherford family.

The Otero family would like to send their deepest sympathy to the Rutherford Family. It was a pleasure working with him in the court. He will always have a special place in our hearts. Sherry n Felix Otero

My thoughts are with the Rutherford family and those touched by his life. May your fond memories of your loved one Sustain you through a difficult time.
Peace and Love,

I worked with Judge Rutherford for about 15 years. My job was assigning judges to 12 courts in the 4 Western Mass counties. He
was a joy to work with. He was totally unimpressed with his position. I enjoyed meeting him and Judge Ryan who were more or less mavericks and were a good balance with others in the judiciary. This job reassured me that we had excellent legal minds in the District Court. RIP Peter - it was a pleasure!

Im so sorry to hear of Peters passing. Please give my condolences to your family

His directness, his sense of fairness, his tendency NOT to take himself seriously, his quizzing of the lawyers at sidebar about the law, his sense of the paramount importance of the law (and reading it), a handful of conversations he had with me when I was a new Assistant District Attorney in Springfield, all of these will stay with me always. I am sorry for his family's loss, but I am deeply grateful for his service to the Commonwealth, grateful that such a person was elevated to the bench.
