Peter SATIR

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague in science. I met Peter in 1964 when I attended my first ASCB meeting, and over the years, his thoughtful criticism helped me move forward with my research agenda. I am grateful for his criticism and guidance. I offer my deepest sympathy to Birgit.

Yo no conocía a Peter, pero si a su hijo Adam y a su nuera Pepa, y gracias a ellos era como si lo conociera por las cosas maravillosas que contaban de él y de su mujer. Descanse en paz, se ha perdido un gran hombre y sus hijos y familia todo mi cariño y apoyo. Muchos besos Adam y Pepa

So very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. He was a wonderful presence at the annual ASCB meetings and was a kind and generous host when I visited his lab and the department many years ago. A giant in our field; he will be sorely missed.
