I met Peter 10 to 15 years ago, not sure exactly how long ago it was - when he would visit our Iris garden in Salem - Oregon. I think he was bringing students down to our garden, which he did annually. May is Bloom season for the colorful tall bearded Iris. We, at Schreiner´s Iris Gardens are accustomed to seeing plenty of artists and photographers in peak Bloom season, which generally is the last two weeks in May. i took photography classes from Peter at the Multnomah Art Center for years. I learned to love photography under his tutelage, he was so generous with his knowledge. He always had the most interesting stories about his life experiences and he never told a story twice. I continue to practice photography and I'm grateful for knowing Peter Schutte.
