Not sure what to say?

Peter Schilling touched the lives of many children. He fought tirelessly to make sure that they received the best education possible. Peter believed in fairness and equity for children; of all races, and from all walks of life. I had the honor to teach with him for several years and during that time I witnessed his many kindnesses towards others. He was a champion for the underdog and he never backed down when defending the rights of others. How blessed we were that he passed our way.

I was strolling down Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina one night last week. I was in town on business and looking for a place to eat a good meal and relax with a cold beer. MY SYMPATHY TO PETE'S FAMILY, I ENJOYED WORKING WITH HIM AT WICKES LUMBER IN FREELAND FOR A FEW YEARS. HE WAS A VERY INTERESTING MAN, AND GOOD WITH HIS MAGIC. SINCERELY, BETTY WUCKERT

I, too, would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Schilling family in their loss. Peter was a great teacher and friend to everyone he met - young and old! We are truly better for having known him.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Peter Schilling. I will remember him always as the "sage of wisdom" in the teachers' lounge. He always had an opinion on most every topic that could come up. No matter his mood - he always met you with a smile. That is how I'll always remember him... sitting in the lounge, holding court on topics of interest, smoking a cigarette, showing us his magic, and smiling all the while.
