I have many fond memories of Dr. Settle from my years at Carroll, 1988-1992. He cared for each of his students, connecting with us personally as he shared relevant (and usually very funny) stories about his family in every class. I'll never forget him and the genuine happiness he brought to our days on campus.

Thank you, Dr. Settle, for your inspiration, encouragement, and insight to life. You were one of my favorite professors at Carroll University, and I will continue to carry your teachings with me. Love and peace to your family.

I started at Carroll in 1980 as a Psych major and ended up graduating in 1984 with a second major in Communications--all because of Pete. I got the notice of his passing in my email today, and all sorts of memories flooded back from those days. I can still hear his voice and see him laughing. He was one of a kind and besides the Parsons, the only professor that left a lasting heartprint. RIP Pete Settle and I'm so glad our paths crossed.

Pete was my advisor at Carroll and he also taught a few of my classes. He was a great person who really cared about his students. I always appreciated his wisdom, guidance and humor. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Pete and Jan were the best neighbors a person could wish for. My son,Johnathan, grew up a few houses away and the Settle house was one he loved to go to because Pete would always grab him and give him the big hugs and squeezes.
He was just fun to be around. There was always the jokes and laughter.
Peter will be missed.
My sympathy and prayers are for Jan and the family.
Love and heartfelt sympathies,
