Val, I am so sorry to learn of Pete's death. The last time I saw you, you were selling your house and moving to PA. I will keep you in my prayers. Pete was a great guy and I am glad I knew him. God Bless you, Donna Lucenius

To the Slusar Family, I did not know Mr. Slusar personally but knew he was a retired military officer and did an excellent job directing the Peninsula Academy of Criminal Justice. We didn't see much of him at the school but he was definitely busy in the background making sure everything ran smoothly. I'm not surprised at his qualifications and accomplishments; I knew he was a sharp and composed leader. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Pete served his fellow veterans and the citizens of Hampton in 2001 and 2002 on the Committee that raised funds and planned the dedication of the Ruppert L. Sargent Memorial Building that now stands at 1 Franklin Street in downtown Hampton. He was an advocate for Vietnam veterans and for the study and commemoration of United States military history.
