Peter Smiley

Pete and I were roommates at UofA in '57-'58. Pledged Sigma Chi and had a great time. Called him 'wheezer' because he had that inhaler (asmtha) which he eventually overcame. Communicated with Pete till he died and always considered him a wonderful friend. You never forget a friend.

I was a good friend of Pete's. We went to U of A together and were Fraternity Brothers. I had been emailing Pete for years, then in about April I stopped getting returns. Pete was a great guy and a good friend.
I didn't know till now.

Lot of good times at the house. Any reason to get the gang together, "the Derby", Ohio State, lot of laughs. We can see him walking up to Bill Fouts right now and telling him he's " over dressed" Good Guy! He will be missed.

Dear Smiley Family - Pete was my favorite customer when I was a bartender at The Boar's Head Restaurant in North Olmsted back in the late 1970's. He got me a job at Republic Steel prior to my starting medical school in 1981. He was a friend with a kind and generous nature. I've thought of him many times over the years and I am saddened by his death. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Dr. John (Steve) Allerding, Loudonville, OH.

Please accept my sympathy and condolences. Pete was a fun guy and I enjoyed our yearly trips to Orlando with "The Boys of Spring". He will be remembered in my prayers.
