Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of having Peter Vaill as an instructor and academic colleague at the UCLA Graduate School of Business and Management. He had the wonderful qualities of being inspiring, charismatic, and always encouraging. He will be truly missed.

Peter was a good friend and colleague. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.

My sincerest condolences to Peter's family. Pete hired me at George Washington University in 1977. He was among the finest people I have ever met in academics. He had a keen intelect, a sharp wit and common sense approach to life.

My sincere condolences to Peter's family. I knew him when he was Director of the Ph.D program at George Washington University. We had wonderful discussions about philosophy and life as an academic. His advice to me was invaluable. He was a very special gentleman and will be greatly missed.

Dr. Vaill was one of my top professors ever, not just during my GWU MBA. Our experiential learning and his encouragement for self-examination has stayed with me throughout my career and life. He was encouraging yet always held us to highest standards. Thank you for sharing your father with his students

He will be missed.

I was struggling a bit to understand the then-new-to-me university, and Peter gave me two distinct pieces of advice that I never forgot. Their profundity has only sunk in with time. I wish I would have been wise enough in 1998 to fully absorb them. Peter also bequeathed me a few books when he was downsizing his library before he left, which I still have. I will be forever grateful that our paths crossed, though...
