Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear about Pete. I really enjoyed working with him these last few years on house projects. He was warm, personable and full of integrity. I trusted his judgement completely. My thoughts go out to his family who he talked about with pride.

To the whole Veldt Family. I am at a loss for words.I am truly shocked. My wife passed away in 2013 so I know what you're going through right now. Pete was a great guy.My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I work at Northern Gypsum Supply in Cedar Springs and Pete has been our customer for many, many years. I was shocked to see in the paper that he has passed. I cannot believe that he won't be stopping in for drywall once in a while like he has been for so long. We always knew it was him pulling in with the trailer and red truck. What a wonderful, kind man. His absence will be felt by us and many others I'm sure.

People who have the gift of "service" and "help" , quite often don't know how to ask for or receive these things. Someday I will let Pete know how much I appreciated our talks and our tears.

No one ever said anything bad about Pete. Pete never spoke a negative word about anyone. How rare is that? Now, when my phone rings it won't be Pete. So I will try to pass on the kindness Pete showed to me when others need it. I'm going to continue to cherish my friendship with this great guy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Pete's death. He was a gentle soul. I have worked with Pete for 6 year's helping him with advertisements in The Rockford Squire Newspaper. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers.

I have lost a good friend. You always joined in to throw frisbee or to play a game of catch. Played on the church softball team through the years as well as Friday night volleyball. We've had many camping trips together and I went on one youth bike trip with you as leaders. My best memory of the bike trip is when you were drying your shorts after you washed them with a hair dryer that was on about 300 feet of extension cord, only to get a thunderstorm that same night and then ride the...

To the Pete Veldt Family: My husband, Jeff and I were blessed to have Pete as our 'sub-contractor' for the Standard Kitchen remodel we did back in March 2008. That's when we met Pete, who not only was a wonderful contractor but truly a NICE guy! We liked him and his work so much, we hired him again this past October to replace our 2 front windows! We are very shocked and sadden to hear about Pete's passing. May God grant you, Karen, and your family comfort, strength, healing and peace...

Praying for your family.
