Peter Verhalen

Condolence to the family. I remember Peter when they lived in highland Park. My mother worked for them helping out with the house duties and the two small daughters Elizabeth and Alison. I was 16 at the time and saw how this family took care of each other and had such a comfortable lovely home. Peter may your soul rest in peace for the wonderful things that you did

Mr. Verhalen was a beloved patron of the San Pedro Library. He was a gentleman through and through and a lovely man. Did he love books! Personally I bought a walker just like his for my own 97 year old dad. We are grateful to have served him. He touched our lives in a special way. Blessings to you - one of a kind - and to his sweet daughters and grandkids.

Peter was a man who would frequent the library. Making his rounds and reading material from the nonfiction collection, he would always stop and talk with library staff and thank them for what they did. He was a very kindhearted man, and I always enjoyed our conversations. Rest easy sir.
