Peter Sherman Willmott

It is hard to believe that over a year has passed since Pete's passing. Associated Colleges of Illinois cannot help but remember how much influence he had on our organization and on others. We are most grateful for all that he did for us and for his incredible generosity in creating an annual scholarship in his and Michele's name. The impact that their support provides to students is priceless. I wish the Willmott Family a peaceful year ahead. Take care.

I met Pete in 1985, and I´m pretty sure this was the first year he didn´t call me to sing Happy Birthday - the entire song - in his rousing voice. And I know that I wasn´t the only one he did that for. That´s who he was; he was truly one of a kind, and the very best kind. He was my boss, and became my mentor, and then a true friend. Old Friends never had a better friend than Pete nor a visitor who was better dressed. I cherish our February walks up the hill to visit Williamstown and feed carrots to IDE. IDE is still growing strong at 30. Our condolences to his family and he will be missed by all of our old friends

Associated Colleges of Illinois (ACI) is grateful for the life and contributions of Peter S. Willmott to our organization and the students we support. He served as an ACI Board of Trustees member and board chair. A champion of minority student leadership, Peter and his wife, Michele, contributed a substantial endowment to ACI.
