Not sure what to say?

I was privileged to have Peter Witt as my freshman and senior English teacher at the Wheatley School in Old Westbury, New York. We became friends and continued to keep in touch through my college years. I got to know his family because I baby-sat for Andrea and Laura while attending St. John's University. For many years Peter and I wrote to one another enjoying old memories and learning more and more about each other's lives. He always had a wonderful insight for me to consider as I made...

Peter was the first person to greet us when we came to North Carolina; we met at the Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist Church after a Sunday service. Peter hadn't even realized that we moved from Massachusetts, where our families had several overlapping addresses over the decades. We became quite close to Peter, both before and after Joan's death, and we will miss him, both at the holiday parties and at lunch or dinner get togethers.

Peter was a wonderful teacher and friend. I will miss him very much. My condolences to Laura and Andrea and their families.

I enjoyed knowing Peter as a fellow docent at the Ackland Art Museum in Chapel Hill. With his sharp mind he was a great addition to our group. My condolences to all his family.

Single Memorial Tree

My deepest condolences on the loss of Peter. He was a funny, intelligent person whom I was blessed to know for a short time. I remember sitting in his living room and noting the fascinating pieces of art and culture that he surrounded himself with, which revealed an even deeper person. His warmth and wit left a lasting impression on me. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
