Not sure what to say?

On a whim, I decided to look up my old friend and Pilgrim High School classmate, Pete. We spent most of our years in the same classes. My favorite times were when kids spilled into the hallways between classes and we were hanging out of our nearby lockers or in homeroom when we were inevitably seated by each other. Pete made these the most fun of times, with his sense of humor creating a fun start to the day for many. Reading his obituary caused me great sadness. Eugene, his family, friends,...

I am heartbroken in my research to learn of Peter´s passing. I will always cherish the memory of the joy he shared with all in Providence and Nantucket. My love to Gwen and Peter´s family from St. Paul´s Church in Nantucket.

I always think of Peter on December 27, because I remember it as his birthday, Peter and I went to Junior High and High School together at Aldrich and Pilgrim in Warwick. I remember visiting with him in the basement of his family's home in Governor Francis Farms. After college, we ran into each other again when he was living on Benefit Street in Providence. We picked up on our high school friendship very quickly for about a year in the early 80s. We lost touch when we both moved out...

So sad to know that Peter is no longer with us. We had lost touch over the years. I did a simple internet search to try to find what he was up to and came across his obit. I knew immediately it was Peter with references to Rhythm Cafe and his sister Gwen. He was such a good artist. I loved his work. He will be missed. The world is a much better place because of him. Condolences to the family and all his friends we knew in Palm Beach.

Although I lost touch with Peter after high school, my memory of him is of an always sweet and friendly human being. May he rest in peace.

Alta and I were both shocked and saddened to learn today of Peter's passing. We knew him during our college years and he was always a very spirited and positive part of our Duke experience. Blessings to you and your family, Peter! I know you are being missed by all who knew you...

April 17
I met Peter when I was 17 and in college and he changed the way that I saw the world. He was such a true artist, and had a profound impact on me. A truly beautiful person. I will miss him, and the world will miss him. I had seen him some in recent years, and had been meaning to call him for some time when I heard of his passing. Of course I regret not calling ... a lesson for all of us. My sincere condolences to Gene and his family.

I was fortunate to meet Peter through his sister Gwen and was immediately touched by his compassion, great sense of humor on top of the awesome culinary skills. I am so terribly sad to hear this news as I have transplanted myself to SoFlo. My elderly parents still to this day (20+ years later) go to Rhythm Cafe because of P. Wyman's vision to open the restaurant. My thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

Peter was a totally kind and decent guy and always a person you wanted to be around. My sympathies to Eugene and to Peter's family.
